Gettysburg Address

I am reading the Gettysburg Address tomorrow as part of my message. It is one of the greatest memorials to the dead ever written. What is interesting to note, though, is that if you go the Library of Congress page on the Address, you will discover that there are five versions of the address written in Lincoln's hand. Two are considered the earliest and most likely candidates for the address Lincoln actually read at Gettysburg. They have some minor but significant differences. Lincoln scholars work like biblical scholars trying to figure out which was the one he actually read and what the changes indicate in his own thinking about the war.
