The megachurch founded by the Rev. Ted Haggard, who was fired in November over drug and sex allegations, has laid off 44 people and income has fallen since the scandal.
I wonder what has happened to all those people who have ceased or reduced giving money to this church? I presume many have stopped attending as well. One can only speculate the reasons without interviewing each person/family. It seems like the news the past 24-48 hours of Haggard's "cure" was timed to coincide with this news.
I hope the whole experience has caused at least a few of these individuals who left to stop and ask some serious questions about their faith journeys.
Unfortunately I suspect some individuals simply felt that their former church was "tainted" and are looking for a more "pure" congregation where they don't have to ask themselves difficult questions. They will continue their lives fast forward with their brains disengaged.

From that standpoint, nothing has been "cured".
