The political establishment took a hit last night. Obama and Huckabee, winners in Iowa, have both taken on the old guard establishment in their parties. But I think that only one of these candidates is a national candidate. Huckabee won with strong support of conservative Christians, a strong constituency in Iowa. He won't find the same kind of support in New Hampshire and in many other states around the country.
Obama on the other hand won with broad support from many constituencies, including women - supposedly Hillary's strength - and Independents. He is going to be a formidable candidate.
The Republican field is in disarray. Thankfully, Giuliani appears to be toast. I still think it will be McCain in the end.
