Friday with Sampson and Sadie

It was 10 below on Wednesday morning when I took this picture on my way out to Bible Study. But the sun was shining in the window and the cats were enjoying its warmth.

BTW, own a cat and live longer. From the Star Tribune today:
Here, kitty kitty ... .
A new study suggests cat owners are less likely to die of a heart attack or stroke than people who, well, don't own cats. And
no, dogs don't do the same trick. The study, by researchers at the University of Minnesota, found that feline-less people were 30 to 40 percent likelier to die of cardiovascular disease than those with cats.

Unless you have severe animal dander allergies. Then the accurate statement would be "own a cat and die of respiratory failure".

I got my cat fix last night while doing some volunteer phone banking for a political candidate in a business office that has a "cat mascot" that lives there. At the end of my 2 hours of phoning, the office cat jumped up and plopped on top of my script and call list and looked at me. It then crawled down onto my lap and started to purr quite loudly. (If I'd known how to take a photo on my cell phone, I would have!) I felt my blood pressure drop and my body relax. For me, cats and good physical/mental health are quite compatable. (Same with dogs too I might add.)

But alas, I'm keeping my husband who has animal dander allergies. So, for a number of reasons, I'm kissing off a few years of life to maintain my marriage! LOL
