Backup tests on Tour de France winner Floyd Landis appear to confirm the presence of elevated levels of testosterone. His team has fired him, and he will likely be stripped of his title. He maintains his innocence, but unconfirmed reports suggest the presence of synthetic drugs. He will continue to fight it, but it doesn't look good.
Landis got the benefit of the doubt from me because he was Mennonite. Growing up in Amish/Mennonite country, there is a certain aura of integrity about the "plain people." But this is just a small reminder that before he was Mennonite he was human, and sometimes even humans who are Mennonite cheat.
