One of my best friends from college and law school, Carol, who was raised as a faithful practicing Catholic in Youngstown, OH, married a good Jewish boy from Michigan who went to Notre Dame. Abe is a die hard Notre Dame football fan--goes to the local Washington D.C. viewing spots every Saturday unless he can fly to the location they are playing and watch the game live.
When Ohio state beat Notre Dame in the National Championship two years ago, I got Carol an OSU t-shirt to wear around the house. (Her parents have lived in Columbus, OH for the past couple decades so they often go to OSU games.)
Fortunately I asked Carol in advance of sending it whether she would like this t-shirt. Carol said, "Don't send it, it will cause marital strife"!
I just want to say that Woody Hayes and Jim Estill are smiling now from their place in the cosmos--this is OSU's year!
